Espresso Me!

The time for planning and preparation is over, and I am now wading into the deep, deep pool of research that is my original work project. Over the course of the last two months, I have come up with a proposal, timeline, and business plan. My project for the year will be to create a corporation of my own. The company I am creating is called Espresso Me and it will be a do-it-yourself coffee bar. The business plan that I have slowly been adding to was finished last week and contains all the basics of my business such as the type of business, management structure, and the stock organization. I really enjoyed this stage of the project because it allowed me to incorporate creativity and add my own personal touch. For example, coffee is a newfound passion of mine so by choosing that as the function of my company, it adds an element of self expression. Furthermore, I was able to make fictional characters and friends hold management positions within the company. By incorporating personal touches in my project, I can remain passionate throughout the year.

Aside from the original work, we also gave a presentation on a topic of our choice in ISM. The topic that I selected was the role of capitalism in creating the fast fashion industry. It was really interesting to research and deliver a speech on something that I am passionate about, instead of a topic that we are assigned. After listening to everyone's presentations I can clearly see growth and improvement from the beginning of the year. I have full confidence that by the time we complete our ISM journey, we will be engaging and effective presenters.
